Response Limits

Set maximum response limits on your Google Forms

Control how many responses your Google Form accepts before automatically closing.

Setting a Response Limit

  1. Open your Google Form
  2. Click Add-onsForm Limiter
  3. Select Limit by number of responses
  4. Enter your desired limit
  5. Click Save

How It Works

Form Limiter monitors your form's response count in real-time. When the count reaches your specified limit, the form automatically:

  • Stops accepting new responses
  • Displays your custom close message
  • Sends you a notification (if enabled)

Use Cases

Event Registration

Limit registrations to your venue capacity.

Contest Entries

Accept only the first N entries for a giveaway.

Survey Quotas

Collect a specific sample size for research.

Tips

  • Set your limit slightly above your actual need to account for any invalid responses
  • Combine with date limits for events with both capacity and deadline constraints
  • Enable notifications so you know immediately when your form closes
  • Disable "Show link to submit another response" in Form Settings to prevent the final submitter from seeing a confusing link after the form closes
