Closing the Original Form

Your caps are enforced on the live form. Responses that arrive through the original Google Forms link never pass through it, so they are not capped at all.

The one-time offer

The first time a save makes your form enforceable, the add-on asks: Close the original form? It recommends closing, and if you accept it does two things.

• Closes the original Google Form to new responses
• Replaces the closed-form message with one pointing at the live link, so anyone who follows an old link is sent to the right place

You can decline with Keep it open. If you do, the add-on will not ask again, and the Form tab shows a warning that people with the old link can respond past your limits.

Changing your mind

While the original is open and limits are set, the Questions and Form tabs show the warning Your original Google Form is still open, with a Close the original button. To reopen the original, do it in Google Forms itself: the add-on notices on the next visit and leaves it open.

The add-on only reopens forms it closed

If your form was already closed before you installed the add-on, it stays closed and the add-on will not reopen it. It tracks whether it was the one that closed the form, and only ever reverses its own change.

Running alongside Form Limiter or Form Scheduler

Do not. Form Limiter and Form Scheduler open and close the same Google Forms setting as their own core behaviour, and add-ons cannot see each other's settings, so the two will take turns undoing each other.

If one of those is already managing this form, choose Keep it open here and share the live link on its own.

If something outside the add-on reopens your form, the add-on leaves it open and the warning returns, offering to close it again. A form that keeps reopening on its own almost always means a second form-closing add-on is installed.
