Do respondents need a Google account?
Not unless you ask for one. By default the live link is a normal web page that anyone can answer. Set Collect email addresses to Verified under Live form settings and respondents sign in with Google, which is what makes one-response-per-person and email-domain restrictions possible. Can I keep using the Google Forms link?
You can, but nothing sent through it is capped, so your limits stop meaning anything. The add-on offers once to close the original and point people at the live link. See Closing the original form.
Do my existing responses move?
No. Anything already collected stays on your Google Form. Responses to the live form are collected separately and are read and exported from your live forms on skyfield.cloud. See Responses and export.
Can I get the responses in a Google Sheet?
Yes. Connect a sheet under Live form settings and every response, past and future, is copied into a spreadsheet in your Drive. See Connect to sheet.
Do I still edit the form in Google Forms?
Yes. Google Forms stays the editor. Open the sidebar or press Sync now and your questions and choices are copied across.
Do the live form's settings change my Google Form?
Never. Who can respond, the schedule, the messages and the notifications on the live form are set separately, under Live form settings. When one of them differs from your Google Form's own setting, the dialog says so, and leaves the Google Form alone. See Live form settings.
How is this different from Choice Eliminator?
Choice Eliminator caps choices on the Google Form itself, using a trigger Google runs after each response is recorded. That is simpler, and for most forms it is the better choice: respondents stay on the link they know.
Its one weakness is simultaneous submissions. Inside the gap between a response landing and the trigger running, two people can take the same last place. Choice Eliminator Live closes that gap by moving the form to a link where each submission claims its places atomically. Use it when everyone arrives at once.
Can a choice ever go over its limit?
No. A submission takes all of its places in one all-or-nothing step with the count rows locked, so a cap cannot be exceeded however many people submit together. The submission that arrives second is told the choice is full.
What happens when a choice fills while someone is filling in the form?
Their page updates as it happens: the choice is marked full and becomes unselectable, without a refresh. If they had already selected it, submitting tells them it is full so they can pick again.
Can I use it with Form Limiter or Form Scheduler on the same form?
No. All three open and close the same Google Forms setting, and add-ons cannot read each other's settings, so they undo each other's work. Pick one per form.
Does it install any triggers?
No. Nothing runs on a schedule and nothing runs after a submission on the Google Forms side.
Does it work on multi-page forms?
Yes. Sections become pages, and "go to section based on answer" routing on choices is respected.
Does it work on quizzes?
No. A form with "Make this a quiz" turned on shows respondents a notice on the live link instead of the questions, and the sidebar warns you. Turn the quiz setting off in Google Forms to use the live form.
Can more than one person manage the form?
Yes. Anyone who can edit the Google Form can open the sidebar. The account that first connected is the one whose connection keeps the live form in sync, so if the sidebar says the live version is managed by a different Google account, switch to that account. Only the form's owner can upgrade the plan.
What happens if my plan ends?
The live form keeps serving and keeps enforcing your saved limits, with editing on hold. After 30 days it hands intake back to your original Google Form. Export never stops working. See Plan changes.
Where is my form data stored?
The questions, choices and limits of the live form, and the responses collected on it, are stored on Skyfield's servers so the live link can enforce your caps. Details are in the privacy policy, and you can ask us to delete a live form and its responses at any time.
